Looking for young talent in the Bloomington area? We've got you covered!
The Franklin Initiative Employment and Job Skills Fair connects qualified young adults looking for full-time or summer work with local businesses. Many have earned a National Career Readiness Certificate by passing the WorkKeys® test of workplace readiness. The event also includes opportunities to interect with regional HR professionals about resumes, interviews, and other important job skills.
Students
This event is held each Spring shortly before graduation and is open to all area upper-classmen. We encourage you to come in professional dress with resumes. Many employers will have applications at the event for you to complete.
Employers
Whether you need long-term employees or some extra seasonal help, we'd love to include you! Each organization gets their own table. You may decorate your table as you wish, and are encouraged to provide any additional materials, literature, displays, etc. that help convey your business. The event is generally held in 3 sessions (one per high school) and we encourage to stay for as many as you're available. Please have a supply of any application forms that students need to fill out on-hand.
This year's fair included over 20 buisnesses/organizations and was attended by over 100 students!
I hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to find qualified employees and provide a real-world educational experience for our students. If you are interested in participating in next year's fair, or have any questions, contact Macy Hughes, The Chamber's The Franklin Initiative Manager, at (812) 336-6381, or by email at mhughes@ChamberBloomington.org.
