State Issues
The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce continues to serve as a voice of progress and improvement in the region, uniting business and community to improve the quality of life for residents. We are committed to advocating on behalf of our members and our community so that we can work together towards making a better Bloomington. Focusing on issues at the state level allows Bloomington to grow as the state of Indiana grows.
Objectives:
- Position the greater Bloomington area as a leading business center.
- Engage in and positively impact local issues relevant to the business community.
- Monitor and engage in state and federal legislative policy on behalf of business and the community
.
It is important that the Bloomington community understand how current state issues will effect the local issues as well. Currently, The Chamber is focusing on the following state issues:
-
Business Taxation & Regulation
- Education
- Health Care
- Infrastructure
The following agenda outlines current issues that matter most to our members. This policy agenda, drafted by The Chamber’s Legislative Council and adopted by The Chamber’s Board of Directors, may evolve as other issues emerge.
