Adding to the area’s quality post-secondary educational offerings is Ivy Tech Community College, which is Indiana's system of community colleges, encompassing 23 campuses in 14 regions, including Bloomington.
Monroe County’s two school districts – Monroe County Community School Corporation (MCCSC) and Richland-Bean Blossom – serve the area’s youth, along with nine private schools. In Monroe County alone, there are 16 elementary schools, nine private schools, three middle schools and three high schools. Bloomington also boasts top-notch, award-winning schools at the primary and secondary level. Our area’s teachers are highly educated and motivated to provide our young people with the solid foundation on which to learn and contribute. In addition, community interaction and input is valued with opportunities for engagement offered at every level.
