Members of Green Business Bloomington will be recognized as committed to a greener community through their business operations and gain a greater level of personal satisfaction by owning a role in environmental stewardship

  • Members will have access to the Chamber’s Green Business Bloomington logo for print and electronic use
  • Members will receive recognition in the Environmental Stewardship section of the Chamber’s website www.ChamberBloomington.org
  • Members will receive a Green Business Bloomington window cling for display at their business
  • Periodic elective promotional opportunities exclusively available to Green Business Bloomington members

application process

Applicants will submit a two part proposal for consideration by the Chamber’s Environmental Stewardship Team.

Chamber membership is required for program participation.

Part I includes a question general survey worth a total of 57 possible points. Questions in Part I are generally yes/no in nature, but applicants are encouraged to include short explanations or attach associated company policies or procedures. The questions in this section are intended to be applicable to all or most businesses regardless of size or type. Part I is worth a total of points.

Part II is an essay portion that allows each applicant to describe industry specific or individual efforts that are not included as part of the general survey. Part II is worth a total of 15 points and will be assessed by the Environmental Stewardship Team.

At total of 36 out of 72 points possible must be awarded to receive the Green Business Bloomington designation.

Applicants who are not awarded a minimum of 36 points will receive a response from the Chamber’s Environmental Stewardship Team including explanation for not receiving the designation and recommendations for areas of improvement. Applicants who do not achieve the designation will be permitted to reapply one time during the following 6 month period.

Applications must be submitted electronically. Paper applications will not be accepted. Completed applications can be sent to kholt@chamberbloomington.org  A renewal application must be submitted every 2 years to maintain designation and benefits.

application period

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and awarded bi-annually.

application fee

An application fee of $65 must accompany each application and renewal application.
