Seven Local Leaders to be Honored with Women Excel Bloomington Awards Bloomington, IN – April 15, 2016 – Today, the Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce announced this year’s seven Women Excel Bloomington (WEB) honorees. These local women were chosen based on their outstanding leadership, business acumen, entrepreneurship and community involvement. The 7th Annual WEB Awards Luncheon will be held on Wednesday, May 11 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in Indiana University’s Henke Hall of Champions. Those to be honored at the 2016 Women Excel Bloomington Awards Luncheon are: - Lesley Bolton, Editorial Director & Co-Founder - Inkblot Editing - Kathy Romy, Executive Director – Bloomington Meals on Wheels - Valerie Pena, Associate Vice President, Branding and Marketing, and Chief of Staff – Office of Government Relations, Indiana University - Joyce Poling, Assistant to the Chancellor for Community Engagement – Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington - Sue Talbot, Founding Director of Hoosier Voices for Higher Education - Indiana University - Kerry Thomson, CEO - Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County - Sue West, Controller, One World Enterprises “We had a tremendous response to our request for nominations which underscores the depth of women leaders we have in our community,” said Kelley Brown, director of marketing & public relations for The Chamber. “These seven women represent the best of the best. They go above and beyond in their contributions at their workplace and in our community, setting an incredible example of how successful leaders operate, share and mentor.” The event would not be possible without the support from sponsors: Cook Group, Cassady Electrical Contractors, Solution Tree, I.U. Health Bloomington, Smithville Fiber, German American, Nature’s Way, Wal-Mart, and supporting sponsors French Lick Resort, G.E.
