This premier event welcomes elected officials and influential leaders whose decisions shape policy, governance, and the business climate. Attendees will gain exclusive insights from those with firsthand experience in public service, leadership, and policymaking.
The Greater Bloomington Chamber of Commerce is hosting Dignitary Discussions featuring Governor Mike Braun | Presented by German American Bank and Indiana University on Monday, August 17th from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Bloomington Convention Center. Doors will open at 11:00am, lunch will be served at 11:30am, and the program will begin at noon.
This private, member-exclusive event will provide Chamber members the opportunity to hear directly from Indiana’s Governor about state-level issues impacting businesses, employers, and communities across Bloomington, Monroe County, and Indiana. Governor Braun will join Chamber members for a wide-ranging conversation on state-level issues that impact Bloomington, Monroe County, and Indiana’s business community. The discussion will focus on topics important to local employers, including Indiana’s business climate, workforce development, economic growth, infrastructure, community investment, and policies affecting businesses across the state.
Mike Braun is the 52nd Governor of Indiana and previously served as a United States Senator from 2019 to 2025. Before entering statewide and federal office, Governor Braun built a career as a Main Street entrepreneur, growing a small Jasper-based business into a national company with locations across the country. His background in business, public service, and state leadership provides a unique perspective on the issues shaping Indiana’s economy and communities.
This event will also feature remarks from Indiana Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Vanessa Green Sinders, who will serve as moderator. Additional remarks may be provided by representatives from Indiana University and German American Bank.

The Chamber hosts events featuring candidates and elected officials, attending or speaking, in an effort to inform members of local, state, and federal policies, and allows members the opportunity to share their political priorities with the candidates and elected officials.
