Registration for this event has closed. Please cruise with us next year!
The 2nd annual Career Cruise is an informative, interactive, educational, and overall, fun day for area 7th & 8th graders surrounding the topic of future career paths. Around 50 exhibitors are needed to promote the careers available within their business/organization. Exhibitors set up an interactive display and answer student questions about the different career and education opportunities that are available, as well as provide advice on what steps to take in order to achieve success.
Approximately 1000 students from 4 middle schools attend this event, where they have the opportunity to interact with 50 local organizations and learn about careers. As students embark on the cruise, they'll rotate through the Monroe Convention Center and visit different "ports of call", each with exhibitor booths featuring area businesses and organizations. Students spend approximately 2-3 minutes at each booth and participate in a hands-on activity designed to introduce students to that career path.
The Career Cruise is a part of an on-going initiative to introduce students to local businesses, with the idea that the students get an idea of what kind of jobs are available to them after they graduate high school, or potentially after they graduate college, especially if, they chose to stay local and live here in Monroe County.
A 40 minute lunch break and complimentary box lunch will be provided to all exhibitors.
