Hoosier Fiber Networks is a Bloomington, Indiana-based Fiber-To-The-Premises network developer. The company and its partners are leaders in designing, building, deploying, operating, and maintaining fiber optic facilities and implementing Digital Equity programs.
When completed, Hoosier Fiber Networks will pass more than 84,000 premises in Central Indiana, including at least 85% of Bloomington premises. The company is laying fiber infrastructure in communities throughout Central Indiana and collaborating with its municipal, non-profit and GigabitNow ISP partner to connect residents with available service and equipment subsidies, expand access in hard-to-reach communities, and increase digital literacy.
Since entering into agreements with the Cities of Bloomington, Columbus, Shelbyville and Bartholomew County in June 2022, Hoosier Fiber Networks has laid nearly one million feet of fiber optic cable. Bloomington residents began receiving fiber internet service in May 2023, less than one year after Hoosier Fiber Networks entered into an agreement with that City.
Hoosier Fiber Networks is owned and financed by Meridiam, a global leader in long-term sustainable infrastructure investment. Since 2022, the company has committed more than $2.7b to fiber internet projects in North America and Europe.
