  • Thank you, Elevate Ventures, for taking a risk on a small team of Hoosiers building the future of home care. 10,000+ people turn 65 every day and we simply don't have the infrastructure/staffing to handle the shift (Indiana isn't alone in this problem). Meanwhile, training family members to deliver care REDUCES costs by up to 40% and also substantially reduces hospitalization rates. Simultaneously, last year family caregivers in the US provided a staggering 36 billion hours of unpaid care, valued at $600 billion. At Paid Care, we believe that family caregivers are the perfect solution to this rising hospital admission problem. • How familiar are you with the Structured Family Care Program? Structured Family Care (also known as SFC) is a state Medicaid program that pays family & friend caregivers a daily, tax-free stipend. Why are we proud to (very soon) add SFC to our list of agency services starting in our home state of Indiana? For one, in the short time SFC has existed, it's already proven to SAVE the state money (yes, paying family caregivers is cheaper than alternatives). Second, here's a quote from an Indiana Age & Disabled Waiver program manager we recently spoke with: "Caregivers love the oversight they receive from our SFC Agency providers when it comes to timely payment, caregiver burnout, and just being overwhelmed in the whole process of being a caregiver." While we're still advocating for LRI (parent) caregivers in Indiana to remain on the Attendant Care program, Structured Family Caregiving has proven to be an incredible program for our state's aging seniors. Learn more about SFC and the role agencies play in our newest article: https://bit.ly/3Vxi08r #StructuredFamilyCare #FamilyCaregivers #IndianaCaregiving #SFCProgram #MedicaidProgram #CaregiverSupport #AgencyServices.
