On Thursday, November 30th, business leaders, manufacturers and government officials gathered in Central Indiana at Frito-Lay, located in Frankfort, Indiana. Frito-Lay North America (FLNA) is the $23 billion convenient foods division of PepsiCo, Inc., and headquartered in Plano, Texas. Frito-Lay’s portfolio of products can be found in nearly every pantry across North America, with an array of beloved brands including Fritos, Lay's®, Ruffles®, Doritos®, Tostitos®, Cheetos®, SunChips®, Stacy's® pita chips, PopCorners® popped-corn snacks and more. The company operates 30+ manufacturing facilities across the U.S. and Canada, more than 200 distribution centers, and services 315,000 retail customers per week through its direct-store-delivery model. "Frito-Lay is proud of our deep history in Indiana, with more than four decades of business right here in Clinton County,” said Jennifer Vogel, Senior Site Director of Frito-Lay’s Frankfort East Site. “Without the over 1,800 dedicated associates who support our two Frankfort manufacturing and warehousing facilities, the Frito-Lay snacks you know and love simply wouldn’t be possible. We are honored to host the Indiana Manufacturing Association and our local officials to show the critical role Frankfort plays in Frito-Lay’s supply chain and positive impact we are making in the Hoosier State for years to come.” The day kicked off with a welcome from Jen Vogel and Darren Clark, who gave an overview of Frito-Lay operations. Attendees then heard from IMA President/CEO Brian Burton regarding how manufacturing affects Indiana's economy. The IMA legislative advocacy team also gave a presentation highlighting all that transpired during the 2023 legislative session and gave some insight into what will be coming in 2024. After the business meeting, attendees were treated to lunch and a tour of the facility. Bank of America was the sponsor of the 2023 State of Indiana Manufacturing Summit/Tour series and we are so thankful for their support and collaboration. Thanks so much to Frito-Lay and their team for hosting a fantastic event at their state-of-the-art facility! We will be holding more regional summits/tours in 2024, so be sure to check our website calendar (www.indianamfg.com/events) periodically for updates.
